Tips to Make Your Gadgets Last Longer
Some people love their gadgets and use it for a long time while the others love to have the latest gadgets and start feeling uncomfortable when it’s more than a year old. Personally, I use my gadgets for a long time, around 5 years, and that without facing any performance slow down. Following are some tips that will help your gadgets last longer and keep them in their prime condition for the years to come.
- Charging the Right Way
The li-on batteries used in modern gadgets are protected by circuitry and are not prone to overcharging. What does it mean for users? It means that you can charge your mobile, laptop, or other gadgets often, without worrying about the overcharge. Do not wait until your battery is drained to 0%. It is best to keep it between 40% to 80% most of the time.
Use quality charger to make your gadgets last longer. The chargers shipped with your gadgets are often the best option. However, if you buy a new charger, but a quality one. If you live in an area where you often have thunderstorms, do not charge your gadgets during thunderstorms.
- Use a Separate Space for Storing Mobiles
We use out pockets and handbags to store our mobiles. It is convenient, but it is better to dedicate a pocket, or a space in your handbag, to your mobile phone. Stuffing a lot of things with a mobile phone is more likely to cause damage, even if the screen of your mobile is scratch resistant.
- Keep Away from Direct Sunlight
Direct sunlight and the heat it produces is very likely to damage your gadgets. To make your gadgets last longer, do not expose them to the direct sunlight. Also, keep them away from places with excessive heat. Some covers and pouches trap heat. Either get rid of such covers or at least remove them while using and charging your gadgets.
